Jones, William Hooper – Lieutenant

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hooper Jones, of 190, Mount Pleasant, Hawkshaw, Lancashire. Served through the First World War. Formerly a Sergeant (1988) and WOII (200409) in the Lancashire Fusiliers, commissioned into the Northumberland Fusiliers 17 February 1917. A Royal Irish Constabulary Auxiliary Cadet, he was killed in the “Macroom Ambush”, at Kilmichael, County Cork, Eire.
