Son of Joseph Denton; husband of Annie Denton, of 81, Morris Green Lane, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a guard on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway.

Douglas, William Henry – Sergeant

Son of W. H. and Eliza Douglas, of 467, Lynton Road, Bolton, Lancashire. DCM Citation: “For conspicuous gallantry in action. He and a bomber went out in front of the captured trench and succeeded in silencing an enemy sniper. He displayed great courage and initiative throughout and kept his men well in hand.” (LG 11.12.16)

Husband of Mrs. Hadfield, of 17, Thorn Street, Bolton, Lancashire. One of 48 St. John Ambulance men who left Bolton for Tipperary on 29 November 1915. One of the survivors of the Arcadian, torpedoed on 15 April 1918. Died of Typhus in Jerusalem.
