Hardman, Francis – Bombardier (Corporal)

Son of Peter and Sarah Ann Hardman, of 42, Venture Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Alice Hardman, of 215, Lever Street, Lancashire. “Following an operation which necessitated the amputation of the right arm, Bombardier F. Hardman, Royal Field Artillery, died on December 8th. Previously a tram driver on the Brownlow Fold route, he enlisted on April 6th 1915 and went to the front on October 1st 1916, being wounded on December 1st. His name is on the Roll of Honour at St. Mark’s Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. He leaves a wife and one child at 28, Rishton Lane, Bolton, Lancashire.” (BJ&G 21.12.17)
