Garner, Archibald – Private

Son of William and Mary Garner, of Irlams-O’-th’-Height, Salford, Lancashire. His brother Stanley Robert also served.

Hind, J A – Lieutenant

Brother of Miss Hilda Hind, of 42, Weston Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a Sergeant in the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), commissioned in August 1916. Wounded.

McGuinness, Ernest – Private

Son of Robert and Annie McGuinness, of 33, King Street, Leicester Road, Higher Broughton, Salford, Lancashire. Worked for Salford Corporation Health Department.

Morris, Hewitt – Second Lieutenant

Son of Mr. Andrew Morris, of 124. St. George’s Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted as a Private into the Royal Scots in January 1915. Commissioned.

Scholes, James Frederick – Private

Son of Mrs. Scholes, of 29, Wallace Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Seaforth Highlanders. Awarded Military Medal for bringing wounded in under heavy fire. Brother serving in the Navy.

Southern, John Morris – Private

Son of Isaac and Jane Southern, of 9, Cooperative Street, Barnoldswick, Yorkshire. Formerly S/12684, 6th Battalion, Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment.
