Son of William and Elizabeth Ashton, of 148, Rawson Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly Hussars; 2nd Bn., West Yorkshire Regiment; and attached 10th Bn., Worcestershire Regiment.

Barnes, Peter –

Son of Joseph and Mary Ann Barnes, of 18, Folds Road, Bolton, Lancashire. One of six out of seven sons serving.

Baxter, Edward –

Son of Edward and Ann Baxter, of 56, Yates Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Served in Mesopotamia and India.

Blair, George Aymers –

Of Ellesmere Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914 in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. His father, formerly a police constable in the Farnworth section of the Bolton County Police served as Staff Sergeant Major in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Blundell, Frank –

Son of William and Isabella Blundell, of 18, Lower Leigh Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire, and formerly of 14, St. James Street, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. Formerly Private 159, West Lancashire Division Cycle Company, Army Cyclist Corps. Posted as missing since 05/04/1918 and subsequently presumed killed at St. Christ, Peronne.

Caldwell, Robert Seddon –

Fourth son of Mrs. Anne Alice Greensmith (formerly Caldwell), of Brookfield, Church Street, Westhoughton, Lancashire, and the late John Shepherd Caldwell. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute (1906-1908). Commissioned 02/02/1918.

Of 27, Bridgeman Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1915.

Son of Jabez and Elizabeth Darricotte, of Clayton, Bradford, Yorkshire, and formerly of Prospect, Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire; husband, of Dorothy Darricotte (nee Crossland), of The Hawthorns, Bredbury, Stockport, Cheshire. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute. Formerly Private 10569, Inns of Court Officer Training Corps. Commissioned 31/07/1917. Recorded on Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour as 9th Bn., Essex Regiment.

Entwisle, Percy –

Son of Mrs. Annie Entwisle, of 76, Rawsthorne Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted 1914. Formerly 1776, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Service number incorrectly recorded as 133863 on SDGW.

Fitzharris, William –

Caught as an absentee from Lark Hill Camp, Salisbury since 05/01/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 10/01/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Griffin, Dominic –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Griffin, of 12, Holme Street, Bromley Cross, Lancashire. Later of 55, Queen Street, Bromley Cross, Lancashire. Formerly Private 12658, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Served in the Balkans. Suffered with malaria.

Haslam, John –

Son of Robert and Mary Haslam, of 73, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. Wounded in the jaw and thigh by a German bomb which dropped on a hospital in France, and subsequently transferred to Birmingham. Two brothers also served.

Hayes, Mark –

Son of John Hayes, of 152, High Street, Pendleton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 13109, 15th Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers.
