Husband of Mrs. Margaret Heyes (formerly Lowe), of 3, Waterloo Row, Higher Ince, Wigan, Lancashire, and formerly of 2, Taylor’s Yard, Higher Ince, Wigan, Lancashire. Reported missing and subsequently presumed killed.

MacDonald, William (Willie) –

Son of James and Mary Elizabeth MacDonald, of 24, Bowen Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Joined the Border Regiment in October 1913, prior to which he had served two years in the 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Previously wounded in the arm. Recorded as Lance Corporal in BJ&G.

Markland, Thomas –

Son of Mr. Markland, of 6, Laburnum Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Markland, of 16, Benson Street, Vallets Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Wounded.

Marsden, Thomas –

Eldest son of William and Maria Marsden (nee Catterall), of 4, Gordon Avenue, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of The Antelope Hotel, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914 into the 3rd Bn., and voluntarily transferred to the 1st Bn. to get to the Front more rapidly.

Of 1, Butterworth Green, Chadderton, Oldham, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1915.

Marsh, Harry –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Marsh, of 301, Bolton Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1915, Lancashire Fusiliers. Wounded.
