Husband of Mrs. Basnett, of 142, Campbell Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1917. Taken prisoner of war on 21/03/1918.

Battersby, William –

Husband of Annie Battersby (nee Grimshaw), of 301, Deane Church Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 26732, 2nd/9th Bn., Middlesex Regiment.

Baxendale, Wilfred –

Of 661, Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 19 as an absentee from Scarborough since 31/05/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 07/06/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28).

Baxter, Charles George –

Son of George and Hannah Baxter. Possibly formerly 3rd Bn., ELR, with whom he was serving as Corporal at Wellesley Barracks, Mhow, India, at the time of the 1911 Census. SDGW records residence as “Westhoughton, Lancashire”, though no other evidence of this currently located.
