Son of John and Frances Crook, of 6, Herschel Street, Moston, Manchester, Lancashire. Formerly 276650, Manchester Regiment.

Son of Edward and Mary Ann Hardman, of 6, Lytham Street, Pendleton, Lancashire. Formerly 35622, Somerset Light Infantry.

Hopewell, Charles – Second Lieutenant

Son of Christopher M. and Eleanor Hopewell, of Pendleton, Lancashire; husband of Fanny Eliza Hopewell, of 61, Snowdon Road, Eccles, Lancashire. His brother Bertram Hopewell also fell. Attached 64th Trench Mortar Battery.

Lomax, William Simeon – Private

Son of John Edward and Mary Ellen Lomax, of 22, Almond Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Born at Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 12407, Reserve Regiment of Cavalry. Prisoner of War in Germany.

Miller, Richard – Private

Son of Walter and Sarah Ann Miller, of 133, Church Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Member of Farnworth Urban District Education Committee. Enlisted July 1916. Formerly 187501, Royal Engineers.

Porter, Ralph Johnson – Private

Son of George and Margaret Lydia Porter, of Prestwich, Lancashire; husband of Florence Porter, of Farnworth, Lancashire. A Prestwich man, he married to the widow of John William Lucas, whom he met at Townley’s Hospital.
