Enlisted September 1914. Formerly Private, 3rd Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Wounded in France in July 1916. Commissioned into the Royal Flying Corps 26/08/1917, becoming a flying instructor, and transferred to Royal Air Force on formation 01/04/1918. Killed in an accident at a Royal Air Force aerodrome.
