Son of Joseph and Alice Ann Ainsworth, of Edgworth, Lancashire. Served in South Africa in the Boer War. Discharged 14/02/1900 and subsequently died as a result of injuries sustained in that campaign.

Disley, Richard –

Husband of Mrs. Disley, of Eagley, Turton, Lancashire. Served ten years in India. Served in the South African Campaign. Awarded the D.C.M. “for an act of signal gallantry, on June 14th, 1900, capturing a machine gun which was harrassing the British advance.” Queen’s Medal, Good Conduct and Long Service Medals.

Dove, Elam Page –

Husband of the late Louisa Catherine Dove, formerly of Harlesden, Middlesex. Of Monton, Lancashire. Formerly resided with his brother at the Waggon and Horses, 96, Albert Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. Died aged 55 years and interred in Farnworth Cemetery 11/09/1918.
