Bardsley, Harry –

Son of George Edward and and the late Sarah Bardsley, of 91, Grasmere Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Middle of three brothers, the other two both wounded. Formerly a locomotive fireman with the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Killed at the same time as his friend Gunner Robert McEvoy.

Calverley, William –

Son of James and Ada Calverley, of Spring Lawn Cottage, Chorley New Road, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 4, Primrose Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Born at Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Killed instantly by the explosion of a concealed enemy mine whilst obtaining water.

Curl, Arthur James –

Of 308, Blalckburn Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of the Crowthorn National Childrens Home, Edgworth, Turton, Lancashire. Previously enlisted 07/11/1914 as Private 17637, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, and discharged 15/11/1914 as not likely to become an efficient soldier. Re-enlisted.

Husband of Mrs. Hargreaves, of 28, Maxwell Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 598, Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Formerly 18533, South Lancashire Regiment.

Holland, Ernest –

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Holland, of 34, South View, Belmont, Lancashire; husband of Mary Hannah Holland, of 30, Maxwell Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Seriously wounded in the chest by a shell on 21/03/1918 at Doullens. One of six brothers serving.

Husband of Matilda Hoyle, of 75, Old Road, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 26/10/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Isherwood, William Ewart –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Isherwood, of 657, Blackburn Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly in the employ of the Bolton Cooperative Society’s furnishing department. Enlisted November 1914 as Private 3366, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Posted as wounded and missing on 09/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Lomax, William Simeon –

Son of John Edward and Mary Ellen Lomax (nee Simeon), of 22, Almond Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 12407, Reserve Regiment of Cavalry; formerly 36917, 8th Bn., Suffolk Regiment. Captured prisoner of war at Roisel, around April-May 1918.
