Elder son of Thomas and Minnie Lee, of 41, Kent Street, Bolton, Lancashire, formerly of Petrograd, Russia. Of 37, Hampden Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.

Lee, Herbert –

Son of P.C. John Lee and of Elizabeth Lee, of 148, Mornington Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 26, Windsor Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Died as a result of gas poisoning from a gas shell on 21/07/1917.

Lever, John (Jack) –

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Ellen Lever, of 3, Eckersley Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 53, Knowsley Street, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. At time of death he was attached to the 19th Bn. of the Royal Fusiliers (City of London) Regiment., hence the double entry in the Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour.

Lewis, John Edward –

Husband of Mrs. O’Hara (formerly Lewis), of 5, Denvale Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 98, Arkwright Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a porter by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Formerly Bombardier 35, Royal Field Artillery, discharged in May 1916 as time expired, and re-enlisted subsequently.

Son of the late Joe and Emma Lodge, of Shepley, Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

Longworth, John –

Second son of Adam and Margaret Alice Longworth, of 104, Brandwood Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Lowther, Robert –

Son of Richard and Anne Lowther, of 133, Bennett’s Lane, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Killed when a shell dropped in his telephone dugout, also wounding a comrade.

Son of John and Martha Ann Marsh, of 14, Sidney Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a fireman by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Served in Egypt, Gallipoli and Salonika.
