Formerly resided with his sister and brother-in-law, Tom and Annie Butterworth, at 20, Victoria Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy the Ridgways Endowed School. Enlisted September 1915. Recorded under service number 2375 on Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour. Died from pneumonia.

Stross, David –

Son of Samuel and Celia Stross; husband of Gertrude May Stross, of 21, Aberdaire Gardens, West Hampstead, London, and formerly of 14, Grove Road, Brixton, Surrey. Born at Leeds, Yorkshire (CWGC). Gazetted August 1915 to Second Lieutenant from 21/08/1915. Formerly Private, Inns of Court Officer Training Corps. Attached Royal Flying Corps, qualified as a pilot 30/01/1917. Died at Coventry, Warwickshire.

Thornley, Herbert –

Son of Elizabeth Thornley, of 19, Hughes Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late William Thornley. Wounded in the head and legs by a shell, and died on the way to the hospital.

Warbrick, William –

Son of James and Hannah Warbrick, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of E. Warbrick, of 38, Horsa Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 69, Matthew Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Bolton Post Office. Enlisted May 1915. Died at Port Said, Egypt as the result of being kicked by a horse.

Husband of Selina Webster (nee Ward). Of 67, Argyle Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1915.

Westby, William –

Although he had been living in the United States for seven years before the war, his wife and child were residing at 2, Maybank Street, Bolton, Lancashire at the time of his death. Brother of Peter Westby, who also died in service.
