Husband of Olive Platt, of 26, Melrose Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed in the grocery department for the Bolton Co-operative Society, Ivy Road branch. Enlisted September 1916. Formerly 6989, Yorkshire Regiment. Died from shell wounds to the head and left arm.

Prescott, Henry –

Son of Thomas and Emma Prescott, and 25, Parkdale Road, Tonge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 4978, Army Pay Corps.

Riley, James –

Husband of Louisa Riley, of 29, Coop Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. A Sergeant of the Bolton Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, which he joined at the start of the South African Campaign. Formerly employed as caretaker of the Co-Operative Society Reading Rooms at Halliwell. Body not recovered for burial.

Thomasson, Robert –

Son of James and Mary Thomasson, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Thomasson, of 106, Church Road, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 30, Melrose Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly manager of the Co-Operative Boot Shop, Ivy Road.

Son of Susannah Walmsley, of 318, Bury Road, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 163, Arnold Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a manager of the Tonge Fold branch of the Bolton Co-Operative Society’s boot and shoe department. Formerly Private 8026, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Watson, James Nuttall –

Husband of Elizabeth Watson, of 212, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire, formerly of 46, Hawthorne Street, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed in the jewellery department of the Bolton Co-Operative Society. Enlisted January 1915.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. David Webster, of 38, Ollerton Street, Eagley Bank, Turton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Eagley Co-Operative Society. Enlisted October 1917.

Whittaker, Miles Shepherd –

Son of John and Betsy Whittaker, of 382, Bridgeman Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Bolton Co-Operative Society as a counter assistant at Morris Green. Reported missing 15/09/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Brother George served in France.

Williams, Daniel –

Son of Mrs. E. E. Williams, of 28, Eldon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 303, Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the offices of the Co-operative Society. Received his Military Medal from the mayor whilst recovering at Watermillock Hospital.

Winstanley, Frank –

Son of Elizabeth Ann Bibby (formerly Winstanley), of 124, Lawn Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late William Winstanley. Formerly of 30, Rawson Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly an employee of the Bolton Cooperative Society. Wounded on 03/04/1917 and died in hospital the following day. A brother died at Aldershot, 08/03/1913.
