Lord, Thomas –

Only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lord, of 45, Shaw Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 4478, Lancashire Fusiliers. He was wounded no loss than six times. Died from wounds received on 27/09/1917.

Lord, Thomas –

One of four sons of William and Margaret E. Lord, of 65, Rishton Lane, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 20, Tenby Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 31/07/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Loveday, George Leonard –

Husband of Lily Loveday, of 13, Kendal Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly an electric meter inspector for the Bolton Corporation. Enlisted November 1915, “Group System” and called up June 1916. Shot in the knee and bled to death before assistance could reach him.

Son of Henry and Annie Lowe, of 30, Church Avenue, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916.

Son of Isaac and Caroline Lowe, of 33, Basil Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Emily Lowe, of 24, Reservoir Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Lowe, Joseph –

Son of John and Mary Lowe, of 25, Livingstone Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Jane Lowe (nee Leach), of 10, Topping Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914. Died at No.4 Casualty Clearing Station from Pneumonia.

Son of Elizabeth Lowe, of 161 Ainsworth Lane, Tonge, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Lance Corporal William Henry Lowe. Enlisted in August 1914 aged 17 years.

Lowe, William Henry –

Husband of Elizabeth Lowe, of 161, Ainsworth Lane, Tonge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly an Insurance Agent. Died at the VAD Hospital, Ashington, Northumberland from heart failure following an attack of bronchitis and asthma. Interred 29/07/1918.

Son of Richard and Anne Lowther, of 133, Bennett’s Lane, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Killed when a shell dropped in his telephone dugout, also wounding a comrade.

Loynd, Walter –

Son of Walter and Emma Loynd, of 52, Eckersley Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 63113, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Also commemorated on the Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, India, Face 11.

Son of Joseph Leonard and Mary Jane Lucas, of 8, Platt Hill Avenue, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire.

Lucock, William –

Son of George and Mary Jane Lucock, of 21, Slaterfield, Bolton, Lancashire. Posted missing since 18/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Lund, Thomas –

Husband of E. A. Lund, of 45, Clarendon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted July 1915.
