Brierley, Thomas –

Son of Thomas and Jane Brierley, of 104, Belmont Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1916. Reported missing since 21/03/1918, and subsequently reported died of wounds at a field hospital at Oisy, France.

Son of Robert (stepfather) and Ellen Lonsdale (formerly Briggs, nee Lees), of 38, Water Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Samuel Briggs; husband of Florence Annie Briggs (nee Beresford), of 39, Water Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 10, Gregson Field, Bolton, Lancashire. Served in India and France. Discharged with Tubercular Disease of the Lungs. Died aged 34 years in October 1918 and interred in Halliwell (St. Peter) Churchyard 24/10/1918.

Broadbent, Sidney –

Youngest son of Herbert and Mary Broadbent, of The Palace Hotel, Birkdale, Southport, Lancashire, and formerly of East Bank, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton School. Returned from Canada for war service. Former service in the Territorials as a Lieutenant, resulted in a commission in the Lancashire Fusiliers on enlistment.
