Police Constable 63 of the Bolton County Borough Police prior to being called out for military service on 06/08/1914. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/222/133). Reported missing and later presumed killed.

Son of Margaret Clemmett, of 21, Progress Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Name recorded as Clemmet or Clemment in local newspapers.

Eldest son of Thomas Henry and Hannah Jane Cliff (nee Roberts), of 67 Essingdon Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Musketry Instructor. A brother, Eddy, served in France. Daubhill Primitive Methodist.

Clinton, James Joseph –

Son of Mrs. Elizabeth Graham (formerly Clinton), of 16, Barlow Row, Folds Road, Lancashire, Bolton, England, and the late John Clinton; husband of Florence Clinton. Admitted to Port Hope General Hospital 20/01/1919. Death resulting from “Bronchial-Pneumonia”.

Son of John Brooks Close-Brooks and Emily Close-Brooks, of Birtles Hall, Chelford, Cheshire; husband of Frances Mary Close-Brooks (nee Brown), of Glenham Grove, Saxmundham, Suffolk. Late of Overton House, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at No.8 British Field Ambulance, Mesopotamia.

Attached to the Cheshire Regiment. Died from heart failure as a result of Influenza and Broncho-pneumonia at Herne Bay Military Hospital.
