Entwistle, Herbert –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Entwistle, of 29, Buxton Street, Waterloo Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 24, Devonshire Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Reported missing since 11/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Three brothers also serving, Sam and Harry in France, and Jim in Salonika/Egypt (in April/August 1917).

Son of John Richard and Mary Elizabeth Entwistle, of Bolton, Lancashire. Lived with his four sisters at 3, Baron Street, Folds Road, Bolton, Lancashire.

Entwistle, James –

Son of James and Mary Turner, of 14, Hawarden Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Died from blood poisoning.

Entwistle, John –

Son of William and Jane Entwistle, of Arosfa, Leeswood, Mold, Flintshire. Formerly M/289262, Motor Transport, Royal Army Service Corps.

Entwistle, John James –

Next of kin recorded as Nina Margretta Entwistle, of 48, Willows Lane, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a Locomotive Fireman with previous service in the Territorials. Circumstances of death: “Whilst in charge of an evacuation party during an attack in the vicinity of Olive Trench, Vis-en-Artois, about 3 o’clock on the afternoon of August 28th 1918, he was attending a wounded man, when he was struck in the left lung by an enemy machine gun bullet and instantly killed.”

Son of the late Sergeant D. Entwistle, and of Mrs. Entwistle, of 21, Isabel Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 15, Buxton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 4440, Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed accidentally whilst practising with a machine gun.

Son of George C. and Alice E?vans, of 182, Fletcher Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Evans, David –

Son of the late Mrs. Evans, of 14, Temple Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 8573, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Originally reported slightly wounded on 23/04/1917, but subsequently reported killed.

Son of George and Elizabeth Evans (nee Dowey), of 21, Burnaby Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914.

Everest, William –

Husband of Amelia Hannah Everest (nee Lloyd), of 187, St. George’s Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 1, Cliff Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Home service only. Died aged 52 14/07/1917 and interred in Bolton (Heaton) Cemetery 20/07/1917.

Fairclough, Alfred –

Son of Charles and Nancy Fairclough, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mary Ellen Fairclough, of 16, Emmanuel Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a Platelayer’s Labourer.

Fairclough, Charles –

Son of Primrose and the late Charles Fairclough, of 20, Whittaker Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Fairhurst, Richard –

Husband of Mrs. Fairhurst, of 4, William Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Admitted 16/05/1916 to the 42nd Casualty Clearing Station badly wounded and died the following day.
