Son of the late Thomas and Mayflower Webster, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Clara Webster, of 16, Cecilia Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at 49th General Hospital, Salonika from dysentery and pneumonia.

Son of Fred Webster, of 4, Knight Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mary Elizabeth Webster, of 43, Tyndall Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 5664, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Killed by a sniper.

Son of John and Elizabeth Weir, of 4, Harricroft, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Weir, of 60, Moorland Grove, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Formerly Scottish Horse, served at Gallipoli.

Welch, Albert –

Son of Albert and Hannah Welch, of 299, Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1917. Attached 4th Bn., Rifle Brigade. Died of pneumonia near Constantinople and interred in Batoum British Cemetery.

Wells, Walter –

Son of William and Joyce Wells, of Marton, Rugby, Warwickshire. Police Constable 187 of the Bolton County Borough Police, of 20, Broad-o’th’-Lane, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire prior to being called out for Army Service 06/08/1914. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/203). He was normally resident of Chapen-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire, at the time of his death. Died at Broadwater Hospital, Ipswich and interred with full Military Honours at Ipswich. His brother Stephen also served.

Welsby, William –

Son of Mrs. Ann Welsby. Resided with his sister, Mrs. MacDonald, at 63, Longfield Road, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Reported missing 03/05/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Westby, Arthur William George –

Son of Arthur Henry and Emma Fanny Westby, of The Cedars, 26, Browning Road, Worthing, Sussex; husband of Ethel Westby, of 53, Parrot Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 23 as an absentee from Norwood, London since 22/06/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 02/07/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
