Son of George and Emma Gammage, of 50, Pen Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Esther Gammage, of 18, Norfolk Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1914. Prisoner of war. Died in hospital in Calais on his way home from Germany.

Husband of Sarah Gandy (nee Peake), of 60, Sloane Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Previous volunteer service with the 1st Bn., Manchester Regiment. Wounded 27/04/1916 with fractured left femur.

Gandy, William –

Husband of Martha Gandy, of 41, Hopkins Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 143, Bury Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served in the South African Campaign with the Lancashire Fusiliers.

Gardner, Charles –

Son of William Thomas Gardner, of 32, Sutcliffe Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1915.

Garforth, George –

Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Garforth, of 1, Thorne Bank, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914. Formerly 3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Caught aged 20 as a deserter from the 21st Bn., Welsh Regiment at Kinmell Park, Rhyl since 09/10/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 16/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26). Wounded on 31/07/1917 and died at a clearing station four days later.

Son of Mrs. Tootill, of 23, Nuttall Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of Craddock Street, Bolton, Lancashire. A telephone linesman. Killed by gunshot to the head.

Husband of Mrs. Garrett, of 20, Wallace Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported as Corporal in local newspaper.

Garside, Joseph Henry –

Son of Mrs. Garside, of 18, Abraham Street, Bolton, Lancashire. His time expired in May 1916, and he re-enlisted.

Garstang, Alfred –

Son of Lance Corporal Walter Garstang and Mrs. Garstang, of 124, Cannon Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 247, Derby Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Had been seriously wounded with gunshot wounds to head and legs, and died at No.22 General Hospital.

Son of Daniel and Martha Ann Gearns, of 16, Winter Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Body not recovered for burial.

Gee, Ralph Edward –

Son of Samuel and Mary Jane Lee, of Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Alice Clayton Lee, of 101, Holland Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served in the Boer War with the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Enlisted February 1915.

Youngest son of Evelina Gee, of Highfield House, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire, and the late Arthur Cooke Gee. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Memorial in New Jerusalem Churchyard.
