Handley, Thomas –

Husband of Mrs. Handley, of 22, Percival Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 27, Mona Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Died in France of bronchial pneumonia.

Hankinson, Harry –

Son of Isaac and Theresa Hankinson, of 85, School Hill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1916. Formerly Private 203921, 5th Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment. Caught aged 19 as an absentee from Heaton Park since 27/01/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 28/01/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

NOTE:- Served as Joseph Albert FARROW. Son of Mrs. Emma Hanlon, of 24, Back John Taylor Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Killed by a shell alongside his commanding officer, Captain T. W. David.

Harbour, William (Billy) –

Eldest son of Mrs. Harbour, of 5, Cross Ormrod Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 77, Wellington Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1914.

Harden, Thomas –

Husband of Eliza Alice Harden, of 11, Craddock Street, Mill Hill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Died at No.8 General Hospital from severe wounds received 8 days previously.

Hardie, Norman –

Son of William and Elvina Hardie, of 44, Greenland Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Enlisted December 1915. Formerly Private 5760, 28th Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Commissioned October 1916. Killed by the bursting of shell.

Son of William and Nancy Hardman, of 611, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Sister resided at 73, Gibbon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Worked for the London and North Western Railway Company as a Goods Porter at Bolton, Lancashire.

Hardman, Francis –

Son of Peter and Sarah Ann Hardman, of 42, Venture Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Alice Hardman (nee Pickvance), of 215, Lever Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 15, Hurst Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously a tram driver on the Brownlow Fold route, he went to the front on 01/10/1916, being wounded on 01/12/1917 necessitating amputation of the right arm. His name is on the Roll of Honour at St. Mark’s Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. Left a wife and child at 28, Rishton Lane, Bolton, Lancashire.

Son of William and Nancy Hardman, of 611, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a forgeman employed at Barrow-in-Furness. Enlisted February 1916. Reported in BJ&G to be on the Clarendon Street Council School Roll of Honour.
