Hardman, Robert –

Son of Emily Halliwell (formerly Hardman), of 35, Ninehouse Lane, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Robert Hardman. Formerly 5492, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Captured prisoner of war in April 1918 and held at Limburg. Died at Ohrdruf Prisoner of War Hospital in Germany.

Son of Mrs. Mary Jane Hardman, of 13, Clifford Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 125, Bury Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a pavior for the Bolton Corporation. Reported missing since an attack near Guillemont on 23/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Son of William and Hannah Hardy, of 12, Matthew Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Of 3, Worsley Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. Taken prisoner of war 26/02/1917 suffering from the shattering of the right leg and arm and left side of the forehead.

Hargreaves, John William –

Son of John Hewitt and Frances Hargreaves, of 92, Cawdor Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. A Lewis gunner, he was at his post near Ypres in the front-line trench with his gun when he was killed by a trench mortar.

Younger son of Greaves and Elizabeth Hargreaves, of 34, Moorland Grove, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Elizabeth Aldred (formerly Hargreaves), of 85, Great Jackson Street, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire, and formerly of 142, Hughes Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1916. Formerly 290327, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died due to gas poisoning received three weeks previously in hospital at St. Omer.

Third son of the late John Thomas and Alice Hargreaves, of 20, Lee Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly an employee of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Enlisted January 1915.

Harker, Romillie –

Third son of the Rev. B. J. Harker, formerly of Dukes Alley Congregational Chapel. Of Withins Lane, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a Scout Sergeant with the 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Returned from Argentina to enlist in November 1914.

Son of John and Fanny Harris; husband of Ellen Harris, of 38, Back Cannon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Caught aged 35 as a deserter from Weeton since 14/08/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 08/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
