Son of Cornelius Barnes, of 37, Ralph Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Mary Ann Barnes. Enlisted August 1915.

Barnett, Harry –

Of 14, Pennington Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Worked for the London and North Western Railway Company as a Fireman at Plodder Lane, Farnworth, Lancashire. His brother served in the Royal Naval Air Service.

Formerly employed as a conductor on the Bolton Corporation Tramways. Enlisted April 1915.

Son of Richard and Fanny Bateson, of 2, Channing Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Fomerly 1973, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Listed under Loyal North Lancashire Regiment on the Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour.

Battersby, John –

Husband of Mary Battersby, of 35, Parliament Hill, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 9, Mary Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Served seven years in the Lancashire Fusiliers. Committed suicide aged 42 years whilst home on sick furlough on 16/02/1915 and interred 20/02/1915 in Bolton (Heaton) Cemetery in grave CE. 3. G7. 64.

Son of James and Martha Ann Battersby, of 24, Hamilton Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at the Stationary Hospital, Rouen, France.

Batty, John Robert –

Of 15, Back Croasdale Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Formerly 4641, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Bauchope, Leslie Cyril William –

Son of John William and Louisa Bauchope, of “Ilminster”, 47, Rydal Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of Katanga, Wigan Road, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1903-1913). Enlisted September 1914. Formerly Private, 3rd Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Wounded in France in July 1916. Commissioned into the Royal Flying Corps 26/08/1917, becoming a flying instructor, and transferred to Royal Air Force on formation 01/04/1918. Killed in an accident at a Royal Air Force aerodrome.
