Died of wounds in German hands. Stained glass window in Christ Church, Pendleton, dedicated to his memory. “To the Greater Glory of God and in Loving memory of Frank Douglas Andrew, Lient 5th Bn. Manchester Regiment: who was wounded at Cambrai March 24th 1918 and died at Bohain Easter Day 1918 ‘Through the Gate of Death to a Joyful Resurrection’.”

Only son of Hannah Brooks, of 222, Dumers Lane, Radcliffe, Lancashire, and the late William Brooks. Born at Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Farnworth Co-operative Society. Enlisted June 1916. Posted missing since 21/03/1918 and subsequently presumed killed.
