Lightbown, Albert –

Son of William and Ann Lightbown, of 401, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire, and formerly of 143, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1915. Suffered shrapnel wounds to the abdomen at the Somme battle 02/07/1916. Treated and died at Stoke Hospital, Staffordshire. Interred in Ringley (St. Saviour) Churchyard 20/06/1917.

Lightbown, John –

Son of John Lightbown, of 16, Leinster Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Originally from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. Later of 2, Church Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. Old pupil and teacher at Holland’s School before the War. Gassed in 1918 and never fully recovered. Caretaker at Holland’s School. Formerly 7596, 2nd/4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died aged 31 years 21/09/1921 and interred in Farnworth Cemetery 26/09/1921.

Lindley, Roger –

Son of Mr. John Lindley, of 24, Ayr Street, Central Falls, and formerly of Taskers Lane, Kearsley, Lancashire. Husband of Mrs. Lindley, of 196, Hall Lane, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly of 25, Cemetery Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. His younger brother served with a Canadian Regiment and was gassed.

Lindley, Arthur Platt –

Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Lindley, of 319, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Went down with his ship at Battle of Jutland. Body not recovered for burial. Memorial in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard. Reported as Arthur B Platt in F&WJ text.

Son of Mr. John Lindley, of 24, Ayr Street, Central Falls, and formerly of Taskers Lane, Kearsley, Lancashire. Younger brother of the late Private Roger Lindley, of 196, Hall Lane, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Gassed in France in April 1918.

Littler, James –

Son of James Littler, 5, Brackley Street, Walkden, Lancashire; brother of Mrs. Wilson (nee Littler), of 14, Gerrard Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted July 1915. Died of pneumonia in hospital at Cairo.
