Son of Thomas and Eliza Ann Banks, of 235, Spa Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Died from pneumonia at 69th General Hospital, Jerusalem.

Beardsworth, Arthur –

Son of John William Beardsworth and Clara Beardsworth (nee Greenwood), of 35, Darley Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. A member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Attached to the Hood Bn.

Bryce, Harry –

Son of the late John and Rhoda Bryce; husband of Hannah Bryce, of 11, Alice Street, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Bolton Corporation in the Waterworks Department. Enlisted December 1914. Reported missing since 24/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Crompton, Harry –

Son of Henry and Mary Jane Crompton, of 13, Tavistock Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 2012, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Son of James Laidlaw, of 26, Gordon Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Jane Laidlaw. Reported missing since 28/04/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Laidlaw, John Cheetham (Jack) –

Son of James Laidlaw, of 26, Gordon Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Jane Laidlaw; husband of Alice Nuttall (formerly Laidlaw, nee Wilcockson), of 30, Blackshaw Lane, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 13, Vincent Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly in the employ of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company in the goods department. Formerly Private 7039, 4th/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Son of Mr. Lee, of 70, Keswick Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 72, Grasmere Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1915. Formerly 482, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Died from pneumonia at Rouen.

Russell, Walter –

Of 48, Gilnow Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Family at 135, Gibbon Street, and 177, Willows Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Killed when a shell exploded in his trench. His brother Dick in France.

Youngest son of Rev. John Edward and Elizabeth Swallow, minister of the United Methodist Hanover Circuit, Bolton, Lancashire, later of 33, Blenheim Gardens, Wallington, Surrey. Formerly 3538, 5th Bn., Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment.

Wilkinson, John (Jack) –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson, of 37, Third Avenue, Ferns Park, Bolton, Lancashire. Had his left leg shattered and subsequently amputated at No.2. Clearing Station. His brother George also served.
