Farnworth, Arthur –

Son of Robert and Mary Ann Farnworth, of 5, Whitworth Street, Horwich, Lancashire; husband of Polly Farnworth, of 190, Victoria Road, Horwich, Lancashire. Suffered a dangerous wound to the neck and hospitalised at Rouen.

Farrington, Orlando –

Husband of Alice Ann Robinson (formerly Farrington, nee Hodgkinson), of 9, Burton Street, Folds Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 8 & 17, Trafalgar Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a moulder at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Enlisted February 1915.

Husband of Jane Fearnley (nee Dickinson), of 138, Wright Street, Horwich, Lancashire.

Finch, John Harold –

Brother of Jane Smith, of 47, Catherine Street East, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Reported missing since 10/07/1917 and subsequently confirmed killed. NOTE: Birth registered as John Harold, but all other records simply read as Harold.

Firth, John –

Son of James Henry and A. E. Firth, of 45, King Street, Heckmondwike, Yorkshire. Resided with his sister, Mrs. Lydia Bush, at 23, Darley Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Another sister, Mrs. Mary Crowther, resided at 19, Darley Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly in the employ of the Horwich Loco Works. Served 11 years, in the Worcestershire Regiment, eight on active service and three on the Reserve, including time in India.

Fisher, Joseph –

Son of John James and Mary Elizabeth Fisher, of 33, Earl Street, Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire. Formerly 49648, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

Foster, Roland –

Son of the late Thomas Foster, and of Ann Catherine Foster (nee Jones), of 23, Southern Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a crane driver in the employ of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Horwich Loco Works. His twin brother John was wounded in service.

Foulkes, George –

Son of George Foulkes; husband of Lucy Foulkes (nee Hassall), of 23, New Brunswick Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Horwich Loco Works. Mobilised with the Army Reserve in August 1914, and took part in the retreat at Mons.
