Son of George and Mary Elizabeth Gastall, of Crown Lane, Horwich, Lancashire; husband of Annie Gastall (nee Simmons), of 27, Brownlow Road, Horwich, Lancashire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Formerly an apprentice at Horwich Loco Works. Wounded on 06/10/1916.

Son of Daniel and Martha Ann Gearns, of 16, Winter Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Body not recovered for burial.

Gerrard, Thomas –

Son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Gerrard, of Headless Cross Cottage, Anderton, Lancashire; brother of Fred Gerrard, of New South Wales, Australia. Died of enteric and heatstroke at No.2 Australian Field Hospital, Tel-el-Kabir, Egypt.

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Gilfoy, of 41, Pioneer Street, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of 195, Lee Lane, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly worked at Horwich Loco Works as a boiler maker. Died at Poona, India, from appendicitis. Also remembered on Face 7 of the Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, India.

Gollins, Herbert –

Husband of Frances Gollins (nee Russell), of 123, Weston Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 1st Bn., King’s Shropshire Light Infantry. Caught as an absentee from 3rd Bn., King’s Shropshire Light Infantry at Pembroke Dock since 20/09/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 25/09/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort.
