Husband of Mary Hannah Clarke, of 3, Green’s Court, Chorley Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Formerly 24223, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Son of Christopher Dransfield and Julietta Martin Coups (nee Tress), of 55, Ainsworth Avenue, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of 17, Smeaton Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly an engine cleaner at the Horwich Loco Works. Surname sometimes mistakenly recorded as COUPES.

Davenport, Francis Evan –

Husband of Mrs. Davenport, of Nasmyth Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914. Formerly employed in the boiler shop of Horwich Loco Works.

Dearden, Walter –

Son of William and Elizabeth Ann Dearden, of “Eskdale”, Whitefield, Lancashire, and formerly of “Holmesdale”, Church Lane, Whitefield, Lancashire. Formerly resided at 7, Penn Street, Horwich, Lancashire whilst engaged as an engine fitters’ apprentice at Horwich Loco Works.

Son of Mr. W. A. and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Dewhurst, of 19, Dale Street, Horwich, Lancashire. A member of the Bolton Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade.

Dyer, James –

Formerly worked at the Horwich Loco Works. Missing since the battle of Le Cateau.

Husband of Alice Ann Robinson (formerly Farrington, nee Hodgkinson), of 9, Burton Street, Folds Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 8 & 17, Trafalgar Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a moulder at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Enlisted February 1915.

Finch, John Harold –

Brother of Jane Smith, of 47, Catherine Street East, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Reported missing since 10/07/1917 and subsequently confirmed killed. NOTE: Birth registered as John Harold, but all other records simply read as Harold.

Foulkes, George –

Son of George Foulkes; husband of Lucy Foulkes (nee Hassall), of 23, New Brunswick Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Horwich Loco Works. Mobilised with the Army Reserve in August 1914, and took part in the retreat at Mons.

Gastall, Leonard Whitehead –

Son of George and Mary Elizabeth Gastall, of Crown Lane, Horwich, Lancashire; husband of Annie Gastall (nee Simmons), of 27, Brownlow Road, Horwich, Lancashire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Formerly an apprentice at Horwich Loco Works. Wounded on 06/10/1916.
