Brother of Jane Smith, of 47, Catherine Street East, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Reported missing since 10/07/1917 and subsequently confirmed killed. NOTE: Birth registered as John Harold, but all other records simply read as Harold.
