Son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Loveless, of 168, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire; husband of Florence Loveless, of 162, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted early 1917. Died at 19th General Hospital, Alexandria having contracted Malaria whilst serving in Palestine.

Son of Martha Nuttall (nee Berry), of 139, Bradford Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late William Nuttall. Formerly of 12, Thomas Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Brother Harry also served with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.

Son of John and Hannah Oakes, of 111, Church Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Killed when shot in the neck whilst on sentry duty near Houplines. Memorial in Farnworth (St. John) Churchyard.

Youngest son of Mrs. Partington, of 21, Lord Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Formerly employed in the Plodder Lane stores of the Farnworth Co-operative Society. Enlisted October 1915. Formerly 110838, Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry. Serving as a dispatch rider at time of his death.

Died at Blackpool, Lancashire. First soldier interred in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard.

Rowland, Samuel –

Youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rowland, of 19, Lindley Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1918. Died from pneumonia in hospital at Clipstone Camp, Nottingham during training. Surname reported as ROWLANDS in BJ&G.
