Wolstencroft, John Nelson –

Son of Thomas and Mary Wolstencroft, of Clifton, Lancashire. Nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Rushton, of Beechwood House, Baker Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. A shell burst near to his machine gun position killing him and another man.

Son of the late Robert and Sarah Ann Wolstencroft, of 74, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Joined up March 1917.

Wolstenholme, William –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wolstenholme, of 141, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Of 16, Antelope Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Formerly 19298, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Son of William and Elizabeth Woodall (nee Waddicar), of Canada Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mary Elizabeth Woodall (nee Hardman), of 4, Tonge Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Originally reported missing, later presumed killed. Reported as WOODHALL in F&WJ.

Wright, Robert James –

Husband of Mrs. Wright, of 38, Hilton Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Reported missing since 08/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Yates, Joseph –

Son of John Thomas and Sarah Jane Yates; husband of Sarah Ellen Yates, of 7, Manchester Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Memorial in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard.

Yates, Moses –

Husband of Sarah Jane Yates, of 135, Cemetery Road, Kearsley, Lancashire, and formerly of 34, Macdonald Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Returned from America to rejoin his regiment as a reservist at the outbreak of war. Died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, received in the Dardanelles, but died shortly after arrival at hospital in Alexandria.
