Ranoe, Charles James –

Son of John Charles and Elizabeth Ellen Ranoe (nee Lindsay), of 14, Mount Pleasant Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly an apprentice fitter at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Formerly Private 1630, 1st/4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded accidentally by gunshot to right hand 11/07/1915. NOTE: Served as JAMES Ranoe.

Regan, Frank –

Husband of Ellen Regan (nee Hodson), of 25, Rothwell Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company on the ballast train. Accidentally killed.

Husband of Mary Rixon (nee Coward), of 10, Ash Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Worked as a Fireman for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.

Formerly worked for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at the Hunt’s Bank offices in Manchester. Enlisted November 1915. Formerly 4220, 21st Bn., Manchester Regiment. Died at Blackpool, Lancashire. First soldier interred in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard.

Roebuck, William Harold –

Son of William and Grace Roebuck, of 334, Chorley New Road, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of 312, Chorley New Road, and 42, Richmond Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Qualified as a pilot at Military School, Ruislip 26/04/1917 in a Maurice Farman biplane. Graded 1st Class Pilot 05/06/1917. Reported missing 11/09/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.
