Son of Mr. Joseph Hallows, of 23, High Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1916. Reported missing since 31/07/1917, and subsequently presumed killed.

Hampson, John Roland (Jack) –

Of 53, Church Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Known locally as Jack, a noted sportsman, in particular of football, cricket and snooker. Played football for Bolton Wanderers October / November 1915.

Son of Esther Hardman, of 52, High Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1917. Formerly 37008, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died as a result of pneumonia supervening on gas poisoning sustained 19/09/1917.

Son of the late Ellis Hardman and the late Martha Hardman (nee Lonsdale), of Little Lever, Lancashire; husband of Isabella Hardman (nee Morley), of 130, Church Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914. Reported missing since 21/08/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Son of Stephen and Mary Alice Hill, of Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Hill (nee Sharples), of 23, Hill Top, Little Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded in the thigh at Vimy Ridge 24/05/1916. Reported missing 26/10/1917 and subsequently presumed dead. Reported as S Hill in F&WJ.

Son of John and Edith Jarvis (nee Cooke); husband of Clara Jarvis (nee Lindley), of 29, Lever Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a Ballast Man. Formerly 3rd Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers. Listed as John JERVIS in local newspapers.

Only son of Mrs. Betsy Kirkman, of 38, Heywood Street, Little Lever, Lancashire, and formerly of 1, Lord Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1915. Posted missing since 10/10/1917 and subsequently confirmed killed by a sniper’s bullet.

Kirkpatrick, Willey –

Son of Joseph and Mary A. Kirkpatrick, of 205, Aubrey Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was killed on the afternoon of 09/08/1918, when his battalion advanced in the face of stout opposition from the enemy who placed a heavy barrage at the “jumping-off” place and from hidden nests poured machine gun fire into the ranks of our men who pushed forward.
