Simpson, Charles –

Son of John Thomas and Mary Simpson, of 47, Cemetery Road, Tonge, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at Canterbury Hospital from peritonitis following upon an operation for appendicitis. Mistakenly reported as “W Simpton” in BJ&G.

Slack, Gerald –

Son of George Boothby Slack and Mary Elizabeth Slack, of “Calder Bank”, Davenport Crescent, Stockport, Cheshire. Enlisted February 1917. Died of pneumonia at 58th Casualty Clearing Station at Lillers. His brother George also served in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment as Lieutenant.

Husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Smith, of 2, Kenyon Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 67, Leicester Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Found drowned in the lodge of Messrs. Slater’s Bleachworks at Duscar. Previously remembered on the Hollybrook Memorial (CWGC), Panel 106.
