Bedgood, Archie –

Of 20, Coronation Street, Salford, Lancashire. Formerly employee of Smith & Coventry, Engineers. Served at Gallipoli where he contracted dysentry and enteric fever causing him to be sent to a hospital in Malta, and then to London. In 1916 he was sent to serve in Mesopotamia where he died. St. Clements Church, Ordsall.

Berry, George –

Son of George and Sarah Berry, husband of Ellen (Blair), 107 Sunnyside Street, Salford, Lancashire. George was a velvet dresser before he enlisted in November 1915 and embarked for France March 1916. Promoted to Lance Corporal March 1917. He was wounded 11/04/1917 (gunshot wound left leg) at the Battle of Arras and was wounded again at Passendale 13/10/1917 (shrapnel right leg). George died the same day at Dozinghem casualty clearing station and was buried there.

Son of Mr. W. H. Berry, of 85, Church Street, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire.

Booth, Harry –

Harry had served with the Liverpool Regiment (269415) prior to being transferred to the Royal Fusiliers. SDGW gives the following additional information: Formerly 8125, Liverpool Regiment, posted 26th Royal Fusiliers.

Bradshaw, James –

Son of Alfred and Elizabeth Bradshaw; husband of Elizabeth Bradshaw (nee Boulderstone), of 14, Rudman Street, Salford, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a moulder. Served in the Dardanelles and Egypt before landing in France 11/03/1916.

Brearley, James Shaw –

Son of James and Nellie Brearley, 41 Regent Square, Salford, Lancashire; husband of Emma Simpson (formerly Brearley) 4 Hollingwood Street, Salford, Lancashire. James died at sea, along with 59 other Border Regiment soldiers, when the Royal Edward was sunk after being hit by a torpedo.

Brook, James Henry –

Son of James and Annie Brooks; husband of Sarah Ann Brook (nee Broadhurst), of 13, King Edward Street, Salford, Lancashire. Formerly a Police Constable with the Salford County Borough Police.

Bryden, George Arthur –

Of 7, Regent Square, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 78919, Royal Army Medical Corps. Commissioned. Attached 2nd/4th Bn., York and Lancaster Regiment.
