Glaister, George –

Son of Hannah Glaister, of Breightmet Hall, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Alfred Glaister. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1898-1899), and the Bolton Church Institute. Formerly Private, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Previously wounded in the ankle in April 1915. Gazetted to Lieutenant from Second Lieutenant July 1917. Acting captain at time of death.

Glaister, Stephen –

Son of Hannah Glaister, of Breightmet Hall, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Alfred Glaister. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute (1907-1908). Formerly 21st Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Invalided home in December 1915 with trench feet or frostbite.

Heywood, George –

Son of Peter and Nancy Heywood, of 20, Breightmet Fold, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 29, Fearnysides, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. The third son to fall within 13 months.

Hodges, James Prichard –

Son of James and Matilda Hodges, of Beightmet Fold, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Frances Hodges (nee Haslam), of 162, Bradford Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 21, Halton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1915. Died of wounds received at Beaumont Hamel at the 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne.

Son of Peter and Elizabeth Holden, of 402, Red Lane, Red Bridge, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915.

Kippax, James –

Son of James and Ellen Kippax, of 587, Bury Road, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915.

Leach, Thomas –

Son of Mrs. Leach, of 282, Bury New Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914.

Lewis, Fred –

Son of Mr. Thomas Lewis, of 579, Bury Road, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. A doctor’s steward serving on the Cunard Steamship Company’s ill-fated liner RMS Lusitania.

Lewis, William –

Son of Thomas and Alice Lewis, of 579, Bury Road, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served 3 years with the 5th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Admitted 1st Canadian Casualty Clearing Station dangerously wounded by gunshot to the head penetrating brain. Died at 1st Southern General Hospital, Dudley Road, Birmingham.

Liptrot, Alfred –

Son of the late Robert Liptrot, of 352, Bury Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Posted missing and subsequently presumed killed.
