Bauchope, Leslie Cyril William –

Son of John William and Louisa Bauchope, of “Ilminster”, 47, Rydal Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of Katanga, Wigan Road, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1903-1913). Enlisted September 1914. Formerly Private, 3rd Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Wounded in France in July 1916. Commissioned into the Royal Flying Corps 26/08/1917, becoming a flying instructor, and transferred to Royal Air Force on formation 01/04/1918. Killed in an accident at a Royal Air Force aerodrome.

Bickerstaffe, William –

Son of William and Jane Bickerstaffe (nee Richardson), of 17, Jubilee Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 17, Isabella Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 24 as an absentee from Rhyl since 21/08/1915 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 24/08/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
