Haslam, John –

Son of Rachel Haslam (nee Parkinson), of 326, Manchester Road East, Little Hulton, Lancashire, and the late John Haslam; husband of Blanche Smith (formerly Haslam nee Woodward), of 160, Beaufort Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, and formerly of 2, Campbell Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Three brothers also served.

Hodgkiss, Ernest –

Son of Annie Hodgkiss, of 33, Walkden Road, Walkden, Lancashire, and the late Adam Hodgkiss. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Enlisted November 1915. Died of pneumonia at the 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham.

Howard, Harry –

Husband of Margaret Howard, of 15, Blantyre Avenue, Walkden, Lancashire, and formerly of 50, Newearth Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1915. Died of pneumonia aged 41 years on 15/12/1919.

Jackson, John Charles –

Husband of Sarah Jackson, of 4, North Avenue, Highfield, Farnworth, Lancashire, and formerly of Bentinck Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted aged 17 years. Formerly 4607, Lancashire Fusiliers. Reported as Charles John in F&WJ. Committed suicide at the home of Emily Mapley at Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire where he was billeted.

A member of the Walkden Branch of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Enlisted May 1915. Died suddenly and unexpectedly at King George’s Hospital, London, where he was stationed as an orderly.
