Son of Mrs. Ashcroft, of 22, Gorses Mount, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. One of three brothers in service, one in the Canadians, and one in the Royal Army Medical Corps.

Aspin, Edward (Ned) –

Son of Agnes Chadwick (formerly Aspin), of 6, Bradford Park, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Robert Aspin. Enlisted November 1915.

Barlow, Alexander Sylvester –

Son of James H. and Mary Ann Barlow, of 77, Clinton Street, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and formerly of 1, Gorses Mount, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire.

Bateman, Henry –

Son of George and Elizabeth Bateman, of Woodvale, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire; husband of Mary Ellen Bateman, of 404, Radcliffe Road, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 18209, Royal Dublin Fusiliers?

Bennett, Jesse –

Husband of Mrs. Clara Bennett, of 5, Top-o’th’-Lane, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.

Boardman, Thomas Hart –

Husband of Mrs. Boardman, of 104, Eldon Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served in Egypt and Gallipoli.

Bradbury, Norman Offley –

Youngest son of James and Anne Bradbury, of 29, Bromwich Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly a member of the staff of the Bolton Education Offices. Previous service of four years in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Died at No.58 Casualty Clearing Station from syncope.

Brandwood, Arthur –

Son of John and Margaret Brandwood, of 2, Cambridge Road, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire. Resided at 12, Wardle Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Police Constable 42 of the Bolton County Borough Police since 15/04/1909 before enlisting for military service. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/165). Promoted Corporal 25/05/1917. A brother, Jack, served in France.

Briercliffe, Louis Bernard –

Son of Thomas Henry Briercliffe and Sarah Louise (nee Benson), his wife, of Wheatfield, Radcliffe Road, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 2, Bowkers Row, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1897-1905). Commissioned September 1915.

Bromley, Tom –

Son of Thomas and Alice Bromley, of 124, Radcliffe Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded fatally in the thigh November 1916.

Diggle, George Henry –

Son of Alfred and Mary Diggle, of 76, Hacken Lane, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Formerly 7593, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Gassed 22/07/1917 and died in a casualty clearing station.
