Bottomley, Edward –

Son of Isaac and Mary Westhoughton Bottomley; husband of Elizabeth A. Bottomley, of 45, Brancker Street, Chequerbent, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Called up at outbreak of war with the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and after serving seven months was discharged in February 1915. Enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment in May 1915.

Husband of Mary Briggs (nee Powell), of 10, Wright Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Died of pneumonia at No.21 General Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt.

Davies, Charles –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Davies, of 342, Park Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1915.

Doxey, Walter –

Son of James and Jane Doxey, of 723, Manchester Road, Chequerbent, Westhoughton, Lancashire; husband of Annie Wood (formerly Doxey), of 3, Lorensen Avenue, Merlynston, North Coburn, Victoria, Australia.

Freeman, James –

Son of Thomas and Mary Ann Freeman, of 658, Manchester Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire; husband of Alice Freeman, of 479, Manchester Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Formerly headmaster of Chequerbent School. Instantly killed by shell fire.

Hampson, John –

Of 282 Park Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Prisoner of War. Died in hospital at La Cotelle.

Haslam, Clifford –

Son of Ada A. Mills (formerly Haslam), of 76, Park Road, Lytham, Lancashire, and the late Harrison Mellor Haslam. Resided at “The Limes”, Manchester Road, Chequerbent, Westhoughton, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Grammar School. Enlisted June 1915. Formerly Public Schools’ Bn.
