Buckley, Josiah (Sie) –

Son of Joe and Sarah Ellen Buckley, of Pendleton, Lancashire; husband of Eleanor Buckley, of 7, Gerald Street, Whit Lane, Pendleton, Lancashire. At 9am on 28/09/1918, during the advance South East of EPINOY, he was severely wounded in the thigh by an enemy bullet. He was taken to the Regiment.al Aid Post for treatment and evacuated to a Casualty Clearing Station, but succumbed to his wounds later at No.4 General Hospital, Camiers. Name recorded as Sie on all Canadian Army records, but as Josiah on CWGC.
