Second son of the late Mr. W. F. Barlow and Mrs. Barlow, of 5, Russell Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Lizzie (Madge) Barlow (nee Hardman). An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1901-1908). Previously employed in the hydrographic department at the Admiralty. Formerly Trooper, Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry. Commissioned December 1915. Wounded by gunshot in the knee August 1916. His elder brother Fred serving with the Royal Army Service Corps.
