Formerly Captaon, adjutant and temporary commanding officer of 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in absence of Lt. Col. Hesketh. Wounded in the leg May 1916. Later commanding Bedfordshire Regiment as Lieutenant Colonel. London Regiment. Promoted Brigadier General July 1918.
