An old boy of the Ridgways Endowed School and the Bolton Church Institute. B.C.E. Enlisted October 1916 as Private and commissioned September 1917, Royal Garrison Artillery. Wounded in the mouth by a bomb fragment and hospitalised at Rouen and London, November 1917. His father served in East Africa in WW1.
