Hampson, James –

Son of Henry and Annie Hampson, of 6, Worthington Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by Jackson’s Stone Quarries Ltd., at Edge Fold, Middle Hulton, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3347, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in August 1916 and in 1917. Reported missing and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war at Munster in Germany from 30/11/1917. Re-enlisted at Bolton on 31/03/1921 as Gunner 738927 in the 53rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery for further 1 year service being discharged on termination of engagement 30/03/1922.
