Jones, William Hooper –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hooper Jones, of 190, Mount Pleasant, Hawkshaw, Lancashire. Served through the First World War. Formerly a Sergeant (1988) and Company Sergeant Major (200409) in the Lancashire Fusiliers, commissioned into the Northumberland Fusiliers 17/02/1917. A Royal Irish Constabulary Auxiliary Cadet, he was killed aged 24 years in the “Macroom Ambush”, at Kilmichael, County Cork, Ireland on 28/11/1920.
