Leighton, William –

Elder son of William Edward and Catherine Leighton, of 11, St. Alban’s Place, Blackburn, Lancashire, and formerly of Aston, Warwickshire. Reverend curate of St. Gregory’s R.C. Church, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly attached Royal Field Artillery and later attached to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in the Dardanelles. Contracted enteric fever and pneumonia in the Dardanelles and hospitalised at the Camberwell Hospital, London. Later senior chaplain to the forces in Mesopotamia.
