Husband of Alice Loynd (nee Grimshaw). A baptist missionary minister and native of Bolton Lancashire. A victim of the ill-fated Cunard Steamship Company’s liner RMS Lusitania, his body was found washed ashore at Ballinskellings, County Kerry, Ireland. He and his wife had been returning to England from America so that he could “perform what work he could in one of the many institutions for wounded soldiers.” His was the 234th body to be recovered. Interred in Bolton (Tonge) Cemetery on 26/05/1915.
