Brother of Mr. Charles McConnell, of 528, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted in 1911 aged 16 and served in India until the outbreak of war. Fought at Gallipoli and wounded three times. Promoted CSM 24/04/1917. Died at 13th Casualty Clearing Station, France.
