Caught aged 22 as an absentee from Knowsley Park, Prescot since 27/04/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 29/04/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29). Formerly Private 25516, 17th Bn., Welsh Regiment. Formerly Private 55444, 15th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Suffered gunshot wound to left hand.
